Service
with Pastor Rich Chaffin
Hey guys,
I want to encourage you in your ministry to our Lord Jesus. It means a lot to all of us, the work that you’re doing.
I know sometimes you can feel like you’re all alone, you’re laboring out in some spot, and you wonder, does anybody even know I’m out here? And we may not know you by name, but you’re part of our team, part of the family, and we all need each other.
God bless you in all that you’re doing.
A Reminder from Scripture
I wanted to remind you of something.
The group that Jesus had sent out to go—the 70—to go and share the message… when they came back, they were so excited.
They said, “Even the demons are subject to us in your name.”
But Jesus said:
“I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning. I’ve given you authority over all the power of the enemy. You can tread on serpents and scorpions and nothing will injure you.”
Then He said:
“But don’t rejoice in this, that the demons are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Joy and Trials in Ministry
There’s a joy in ministry, but there’s also the trials of ministry.
But whether it’s the joy—the rejoicing, and victory—or the challenging circumstances, our names are written in heaven.
It’s one of the secrets of service:
It’s an extension, an outgrowth of our relationship with Jesus.
Paul’s Prayer for the Ephesians
I’m reminded of Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians when he prayed:
- That they would have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
- That they’d know the hope of their calling,
- And the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
- And the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
Know the Power. Know the Hope
- God wants us to know that power — and may you know the power.
- God wants us to have that hope of glory — may you know that hope.
And then he says, right in the middle, he sandwiches this little statement:
“The riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.”
The Joy of the Lord in Your Service
May you find the joy of the Lord in your relationship with the Lord as you’re serving the Lord.
And you wouldn’t lose that, that you wouldn’t get ripped off by the devil or by the difficulties, but that the joy of the Lord would be your strength.
Keep Charging, Keep Going
So God bless you as you continue to serve Him, and don’t forget to reach out to a brother.
Remember, in Nehemiah’s wall, they were all separated, but everybody had a trumpet. If they got in trouble, they would blow the trumpet — and others would come. So use your trumpet, reach out to your brothers.
But keep charging, keep going for it,
And may God bless you.
